Did you know?
- For over 20 years, the president of your association has been rubber stamping contracts to paint / roof / landscape and do pool maintenance without ever once actually checking for outside bids.
- A couple new Association Board members are trying to look into this and find out why we’re paying so much money. They’ve already discovered that we’re paying more than $10,000 / month more than we should. We’ve gotten 6 bids so far and every single bid we’ve seen so far is almost half what we’re currently paying!!!
- Three months ago, our board voted and agreed to entertain bids from certified professionals to find out how much we should be paying. However, our president (Cliff Potter) has decided not to comply with the vote and would rather just keep things the way they are. Instead, he decided to send out a survey. Did you get your survey? I bet you thought it sounded reasonable didn’t you? His letter left out a LOT of things though. He’s not telling you the whole story. I hope you didn’t vote YES.
- Three months ago, our board voted to look into our high water bills. I’ve discovered the City of San Diego is overcharging us and we’re paying single family Tier 3 rates, when we are multi-family units and we’re supposed to be billed a flat rate. Our water bill is > $150,000 a year. So far, nothing has been done to correct this situation.
- Our president approves a $97,000/year contract for landscaping. At the same time, he sub-contracts with this same landscaper (so he’s paying himself with your monthly dues)
Ask Yourself:
- WHY ARE YOUR DUES GOING UP?
- WHY IS YOUR RENT GOING UP?
- WHY DOESN’T OUR PRES WANT TO GET BIDS FROM OUTSIDE SOURCES? NOT
EVEN LOOK AT ANOTHER BID? WHAT HARM WOULD IT DO? UNLESS SOMEONE HAS SOMETHING TO HIDE!
This just scratches the surface. There’s even MORE! Please, take a moment and ask
yourself these and more questions. Several homeowners here are trying to clean up
this filthy mess. We’re being blocked and we need your help. Call your landlord,
Call your Association, Call your President, Let them know you care. These people are
throwing away (or pocketing) your money and they are doing it right under your noses.
